Love Conquers All?

Amy's crush on the Blue Blur is quite well known. It certainly is a point discussed often, such as in here. But should it be? Or rather, should her crush be as important to her character? Some don't think so, and would rather that aspect be minimized in order to show off more of her personality. After all, there are occasions it is not her driving trait, and other semblences of her character show more prominently in those moments, but do the lovey-dovey moments drag it down? That's up to you to decide, so reply if you'd like and express your opinion on the matter.

Her character is made solely of her love for Sonic. If she did not love him, she wouldn't be anything but an average "American type" girl who was looking for a guy and is nothing without him.
